Quick Club History.  Mark Baker was invited to perform at the annual Sun City Variety Show.  During the show Mark did two songs.  One was with the guitar, and one was with an ukulele.  After the ukulele song, Mark asked if anyone was interested in starting an ukulele club. About a dozen people stepped forward to learn how to play.  Several of them being audience members and other participants.  We started out as a Special Interest Group of the Rhythm Ramblers but became a chartered club in November of 2011 with our first President, Roger Scharenbroich.

Today we have around 130 members with some of the original members still enter-taining us today.  We meet most Thursdays at 3:00 at Fairway Rec Center on the second floor in the music room.

Mentorship

We have a Mentorship Program designed to start you off on the right foot.

Our Mentorship Chair, Ginny Steenstra, and the team of mentors, conduct training sessions in the Fairway Music Room.

Classes are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 1:30 - 2:30 before club sessions from 3:00 - 4:30. There is no charge for these classes.

Classes are held October through March. Holidays and special events influence the schedule.
